Meanwhile The Old Man just got a major award (a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg), and Mom is making sure The Old Man doesn’t come near her turkey, Ralphie’s friend gets his tongue stuck to a flag pole, and Ralphie utters the f-word infront of his father. Christmas is drawing nearer and Ralphie visits Santa at the department store in hopes of asking him for his dream gift. Will he receive it? Let’s hope so.

Hey Everyone I Feel really bad coming here and asking for help but I really do feel like this is my only place I can turn to right now for advice. I met my girlfriend in grade 9, she was 15 and I was 14 at the time. We started going out a couple weeks after we. When we started going out everything was going well she was my first girlfriend. As the weeks progressed she started to get clingy. After dating a couple weeks she told me she loved like a lot and I was perfect for her. Because I was only 14 the clinginess and the fact that she told me she loved me kind of scared me. So I broke up with her a few weeks after.

When I broke up with her she went physco and started telling everyone i was a jerk and got many people to hate me and get mad at me. I eventually sorted it out when i told them my side of the story but after that was solved she wouldn’t leave my side. She followed me everywhere I went and constantly texted me and everything. She got mad at me if i talked to my other friends and if I said why do you keep following me she would go around tell everyone how mean I was to everyone and then they would all be like wow why are you so mean to her. She constantly made fun of me to all my friends and really put me down. Things got even worse when a month after I started to like another girl. She started getting pissed at me over facebook and got her friends to kind of do the same. She also didnt like my best friend at the time because it was the only person i could really talk to and kind of feel good around. So she started telling me he was talking behind my back and wasn

Would Manifest Destiny have happened if we had the Neo- Democratic Congress of today and Barack Obama?
The short answer to this question is no. Barack Obama would have been too busy appeasing England to conquer the west and most likely we’d end up as a colony of there’s (yes I know he wouldn’t be president because he would be declared a "mulatto" but we’re assuming he was white). Another reason we would never have grown is because they’d consider the westward expansion "politically incorrect" because it would "racist toward the ‘native americans’". As such our country never would have grown beyond the 13 colonies. Also Mexico would have conquered us back in the Mexican American war while "Obama" was trying to "appease" them like a well known "Mr. Chamberlain" so in fact our country would never exist as it is today if we had such horrible leaders as we do now back then. We are lucky people like FDR, Eisenhower, TR, Abraham Lincoln, William McKinnley, Thomas Jefferson, and all our other good presidents put us on such a good track otherwise our abysmal presidents over the last 40 years would have killed us long ago.

Empire Records and Can’t Hardly Wait are good movies, although Empire Records doesn’t completely focus on teen love (it plays a small part in the movie). Another good teen love movie might be How to Deal, The Prince and Me, Down to You, and Never Been Kissed.

By the way…you have a good list of movies. I’ve seen just about all of them, and liked most of them. There’s only a few that I didn’t care for.

i broke up with my girlfriend today, because i cheated on her. now she’s saying i ruined her day, and complaining b/c she’s single.
wtf? she’s 13! i was stupid to date her, at 13 she shouldn’t be dating! i know what it’s like, you think your all cool cause your in 7th/8th grade, and your "all grown up" noooo. noooo-hooo-hoooo.

my cod mw2 disc is cracked from the middle and i have the harded editon. were can i get a replacement disc at?
i have the hardend Edition of cod mw2. i got it when it first came out. but its cracking from the middle because of the really hard plastic thing that holds the game in place in the case. same thing is happening to my gears of war 2 limited edition because of the really hard plastic holding my disc in place. where or what can i do to get a replacement thats not going to cost me 80 bucks?

Can you recommend any comfort movies?
I’m packing for college and hoping to take a bunch of comfort movies. Most of the ones I’m taking I already watched last year so I’m looking for some new ones. To get an idea of what I like, last year I watched Drunken Master, Princess Bride, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and a bunch of Disney movies. This year I’m bringing along Prince Caspian and Howl’s Moving Castle. Any suggestions for other comfort movies? Any favorites you might have? (A comfort movie, for me, is basically how I fight stress during finals and midterms.)

My comfort movies are generally romantic movies so I love Pride and Prejudice and Ever After. And I also really like Serendipity, When Harry Met Sally…, and Never Been Kissed.

Horse Experts, help me identify the breed?
In 2001’s Black Knight, what type of horse is it that Lawrence Martin’s character is asked to ride. I believe it’s the same breed as in 1998’s The Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas. They were big athletic jet black horses with exceptionally long manes and tails.

how to deal with my dad always trying to control me?
Well, I’m 20 years old and my dad is middle eastern and he’s always trying to control me. He says I can’t have a boyfriend and if I ever move out I will no longer be his daughter. He’s a great dad except for being controlling. He wants to know every detail of my daily life and it bugs me. I just don’t know how to deal with him? What would be the best way. I’ve been dating a wonderful 27 year old guy for about 6 months and he’s the sweetest guy I’ve ever dated. My dad keeps brain washing me how he doesn’t make enough money and he doesn’t look handsome and how I could do much better. He also said he won’t let me date him longer if we aren’t engaged or married. We don’t want to rush things and we need at least 3 years of being together to get married. I feel smothered because of my dad, he just won’t let me live my life the way I want to. I’m very mature for my age, it’s not like I’m going to go partying ordo stupid things. All I want is being my own boss and not having someone trying to control every aspect of my life. He thinks I’m crazy for wanting this…

Well, I would look at it this way your dad is Middle Eastern and they do things a lot different there than they do in the US or Europe. It is hard to give you any advice that I think would work because I’m not sure how strongly he believes that way. I would suggest sitting your dad down to talk to him. I don’t know how close you two are but tell him that you love him and his opinion really matters to you but you would like to be able to make some decisions in your life especially over things like dating and school and moving out. Let him know that you don’t want to rebel or do anything to bring shame to the family but that you would like to live your life knowing that your parents trust you to make the right decisions. I think it’s normal for every dad to feel uneasy about his little girl growing up but he’s going to have to let you grow up at some point. Good luck :) Girly | Nov 23, 2009
